Light Floor aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. Every page is checked on the live site before each release for contrast, names, landmarks, focus and touch-target size, at phone and desktop widths.
What works
- Every control is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- The map has a text equivalent: the table under it lists every region with its grade, its floors and your times, and each arc carries its region and grade as a title.
- Grades are never told by colour alone: each one is printed as a number beside its colour.
- With reduced motion set, arcs appear without being drawn and nothing pulses.
- Without JavaScript, the home page still shows the map and the method, and the 3,081 floor pages work in full.
Known limits
The live grades arrive one region at a time over about forty seconds; the status line under the big number announces each step politely to screen readers rather than interrupting. The saved poster is an image, so its text is not readable by assistive technology; the same numbers are in the table.
